Description
New Peugeot 205 GTI engine wiring harness for controlling the L-Jetronic fuel injection system via the ECU in the glove box. Also described as LE-Jetronic. These terms have been used interchangeably in documentation over the years.
Many found in the 205 GTI with XU9JA-D6B 1.9-litre engine,130HP, without catalytic converter.
In this model, phase 2 (roughly from July 1990 onwards), the coil sits as a black block on the intake manifold. But there are also known situations where it is placed in the transitional phase 1.5. The model years, and even the engine block, are an indication.
The main features to check if the engine wiring harness is suitable for your 205 GTI are:
- Ignition coil on the injector rail on the intake manifold (small black block)
- Black 7-pin safety relay for the fuel pump in the glove box
- No catalyst
- 2 row ECU plug
Original and quality
The wiring harness is new and manufactured by us of high quality. For all open connectors without insulation cap, we place heat shrink tubing between each connection from copper wire to cable lug for extra protection....
This is our standard working method. As a result, our wiring harnesses are characterised by an extra-long and reliable service life.
Also, we only use dense ribbed insulation. Not only does this look much nicer than open ribbed tubing, it is also sturdier, does not crackle and lasts longer. And very importantly, much less dirt reaches the wiring harness this way, keeping the tape whole and tidy for longer.
Original new plugs applied where possible, in original colour finish.
With new 25-pole (2-row) ECU connector from AMP.
Different place branching
Some taps, such as from the power distributor and the SAD (Supplementary Air Device), had sometimes been placed in different places over the years. This does not affect the operation. Our wiring harness is tested by ourselves, when assembled in a 205 GTI with the relevant engine block and therefore has a very good plug ‘n play fit.
After your purchase, we always contact you to rule out any specific exceptions. This way, we make sure the wiring harness is always right for your 205.
Are you looking for a different model as shown in the picture or another type of (engine) wiring harness for the Peugeot 205? Then please take contact with us so we can discuss exactly which wiring harness you need. We will make exactly the right one for you if possible. We can also carry out a restoration of your original wiring harnesses. Or check our webshop for new cable looms.
Locating and connecting the engine wiring harness
The wiring harness connects to the ECU in the glove box on the passenger side in the Peugeot 205. Here you will also find the fuel safety relay for the fuel pump. On the side of the glovebox you will find the 2 brown coupling plugs for, among other things, the signals from the sensors to the instrument panel in the dashboard. Behind the glovebox, the wiring harness goes through the bulkhead into the engine compartment, where it controls the various consumers. Below you can see all the connections.
