Description

This main wiring harness for the positive PLUS circuit of your Peugeot 205 with TU engine, also contains the wires for controlling the starter relay on the starter motor, the oil pressure alarm light and the alternator charge alarm light. They additionally replace the worn battery cables between the alternator, the starter motor, the small battery fuse box and the battery positive terminal. Thanks to the thicker copper core and the quality of the cable lugs, it is an instant very good upgrade of the electrical circuit. The original battery cable colours and sizes have been used.

Applicable to Peugeot 205 models with TU engine.

The older versions with carburettor engines also had a wire for preheating the carburettor. This is then at the middle position in the 3-pin orange plug. Looking for those or another different model? Then take contact with us, we will make the wiring harness exactly for your type.

Advantages of our battery cables over your old thin battery cables

The old cables are not thick enough to deliver the alternator output voltage of 14 - 14.4 volts across the battery without voltage drop. Especially with heavy electrical consumption from, say, the lights and/or fan, the voltage on your old battery cables easily drops below 13 Volts. Current batteries need exactly 14 volts to charge properly and stay in good condition. You also lose a lot of power when starting with the old cables.

NOTE: Just replacing the PLUS cables does not give the full desired effect. After all, the current must also flow back through the MIN cables. We strongly recommend that you order the negative connection MIN cable set along. You can specify this in the additional options or buy the 205 negative minus wiring harness here in the webshop.

The battery cable set consists of the following parts:

• Battery cable red between alternator and starter motor
• Insulation cover for connection to alternator
• Battery cable black between starter motor and battery positive terminal
• Insulation cover for connection to starter motor
• Battery terminal plus pole
• Insulation cover for battery terminal plus pole
• Battery cable yellow between plus pole and small fuse box

Connection of the remaining wires:

• Wire blue with 1-pole MALE plug - Control of starter relay on starter motor (black plug)
• Wire purple in 3-pin orange MALE plug - Control oil pressure alarm sensor (red plug)
• Wire grey in 3-pin orange MALE plug - Control alternator charge alarm light
• Optional, additional wire in 3-pin orange MALE plug - Control carburettor pre-heating

Everything is pre-assembled. The wiring harness is plug and play.

The cables have high-quality copper and a wear-resistant insulation jacket that also protects against heat, dirt, acid and liquids such as fuel, oil and coolant. Heavy-duty cable lugs for optimum current flow.

For an extra safe and reliable connection, the cable lugs are pinched with hydraulic pliers. Shrink tubing has been applied around the cable lugs to protect against corrosion. Like the original, PVC corrugated tube is fitted around the cables against abrasion. We use closed corrugated tube. This protects much better, lasts longer and looks nicer.

We use the original dimensions and colours of cables. The wiring harness has a long service life that will get you back on the road long and reliably.

Insulation caps

The battery cable set comes standard with a red insulation cap on the battery positive terminal and black insulation cap on the alternator and starter motor.

Originally, however, only black insulating caps were supplied. Prefer all-black insulating caps or just red insulating caps? No problem, just leave your requirements in the notes field on the checkout page or contact us.

Customisation
