Where to find the rear light wiring harness
The wiring at the rear of the Peugeot 205 is largely inside the hollows of the body and can be accessed from the left and right from the boot. Usually, therefore, these wiring harnesses are in reasonable condition. But in case of a major restoration, rear-end damage or fitting a tow bar socket, for example, it is recommended to inspect the wiring and replace it if necessary.
What does the wiring in the back of the Peugeot 205 phase 2 consist of?
- On the left taillight is a brown 6-pin female plug. The wire harness with this plug comes from the front, near the car's fuse box, and provides all the functions needed for the rear lights.
- On the left taillight there are three 2-pin female connectors (red, white and brown) that run to the centre by means of a small cable harness and exit through a hole in the body towards the rear bumper. This harness controls the rear fog light, reversing light and the two lamps for the number plate light. This is the cable harness we can supply. You can see the picture below.
- The right taillight is connected to the wiring harness that also comes from the front.
What can we deliver?
From now on, we can supply the rear light cable loom as described in item 2 new. Connections between copper vein and cable lug are provided with heatshrink as always to prevent wear and short circuits. You will find the Peugeot 205 phase 2 rear light harness from now on here in our webshop.
Furthermore, we can renovate or restore the remaining wiring behind (but also elsewhere in the car). For restoration, the entire wiring harness is inspected and cleaned. New tape and insulation is applied and all contact pins/cable lugs are replaced. Shrink tubing is placed on all contact pins where they connect to the copper wire. The wiring works like new again, free of faults and looks nice and fresh again.
If you are interested in this or you want restoration or new construction of a different wiring harness. Please take contact us for the possibilities.
