Description
Engine sensors wiring harness 7-pole for connection to the engine block sensors in the Peugeot 205 GTI / CTI 1.6 and 1.9 litre. To my knowledge for all types from November 1987 onwards. This was the beginning of stage 1.5. Used on the DKZ, D6B and DFZ engine blocks, among others.
The 3-pole motor sensor harness for the Peugeot 205 phase 1 you will find here.
Original and quality
The wiring harness has the original dimensions.
For strength and to prevent corrosion and short circuits, each connection between copper conductor and cable lug is finished with heat shrink tubing. This is our standard procedure at SKS. We also use a slightly thicker diameter for the copper cores. Our wiring harnesses therefore have an extra long and reliable service life.
We now also offer the option of ordering the mating plug (brown female plug) including the female cable sleeves. We then supply 9 cable lugs (2 extra). You can then fit these yourself on the side of the main cable loom. This is often in poor condition.
PLEASE NOTE: The male (male) 7-pin brown plug on the engine sensor wiring harness is no longer for sale new. We can make the wiring harness only against return of your old original male plug. We will contact you after your purchase.
Common faults caused by wear and tear of the sensor wiring harness
The engine sensor wiring harness is almost always severely worn in 205s. The following faults are common due to wear and tear on this wiring harness:
- Poor or no starting ability
- Pointers in the instrument panel not working or working sporadically
- Dashboard meters displaying anomalous values
- Failing sensor warning lights such as oil pressure alarm, coolant temperature alarm or alternator charge alarm light
The photos below show the state in which we usually find the engine sensors wiring harnesses in the Peugeot 205.
Location and connection of engine sensor wiring harness
The engine sensor wiring harness connects to a 7-pin brown female plug you find on top of the clutch housing, somewhere under the airflow meter. All types from November 1987 onwards have this plug. You might want to check this just to be sure. The engine sensor wiring harness for earlier types has only 3 wires, you will find these here.
The individual wires go to the starter relay and the sensors on the engine block.
Easy to assemble yourself.
We now also offer the option to order the female brown 7-pin plug separately including the female cable lugs.

An absolute must have replacement for your existing sensor harness. Superb quality, value and very easy to install. The origional wiring harness is major failure point on the 205 and this has fixed a host of issues I had. Thank you
