Where to find the rear wiring harness
The wiring at the rear of the 205 is mostly inside the hollow spaces of the body and can be reached from the trunk to the left and right. Most of the time these wiring looms are in a reasonable condition. But in case of a major restoration, damage to the rear or installation of a tow bar socket, it is advisable to inspect the wiring and if necessary restore or replace it.
What is the wiring in the back of the 205 made of?
- On the left rear light is a brown 6 pin plug. The wiring harness with this plug comes from the front of the car and takes care of all the functions needed at the rear.
- On the left taillight there are three 2-pole plugs which run through a small tree to the middle. This cable harness controls the fog light, reversing light and two bulbs for the licence plate lighting.
- The right rear light is connected to a tree that also comes from the front.
What can we deliver?
From now on we can deliver the rear wiring harness, as described in point 2, almost new. Only the plug bodies are re-used because they are currently nowhere to be found. All wires, insulation and contact pins are new. Connections will be shrink-wrapped to prevent wear and short-circuiting. You will find the rear wiring loom soon in the webshop.
We can also refurbish and restore other wiring in the rear of the car (but also elsewhere in the car). During restoration everything is inspected and cleaned, new tape and insulation is applied and all contact pins are replaced. On all contact pins, heat shrink tubing is placed where they connect to the copper wire. The wiring will then look fresh again and will not malfunction.
If you are interested in this or you want restoration or new construction of a different wiring harness. Please take contact us for the possibilities.
